How an oil-free compressor works

An oil-free compressor compresses air without direct contact with oil in the compression chamber. This eliminates contamination risk and ensures stable air quality for applications with strict cleanliness requirements.

Compression steps

  1. Air intake

    Air enters through the intake filter into the compressor element with no oil injected into the compression chamber.

  2. Oil-free compression

    Air is compressed in a dry-running or water-injected element, without contamination from lubricating oil.

  3. Cooling and stabilization

    After compression, the air is cooled, stabilized, and prepared for further treatment according to required quality class.

  4. Air treatment

    Drying and filtration follow to ensure stable air quality in line with process and regulatory requirements.

VSD speed control for compressors

On variable speed drive compressors (VSD), motor speed is not fixed but continuously adjusted to real compressed air demand. This means the compressor only produces as much air as needed at any given moment.
