Elmo Rietschle · F-Series

Radial blowers F-Series.

Single and multi-stage radial blowers for high flow at low differential pressure – for suction and pressure, in any mounting position. New: the F-RB high speed radial blower.

Operating principle

Velocity that becomes pressure.

A radial blower accelerates air with a fast-turning impeller, and the spiral housing converts the velocity into pressure.

  1. As the impeller (2) turns, centrifugal force moves the air in the blade chamber (1) outwards, where it leaves at the edge of the impeller (3).
  2. This creates negative pressure at the hub (5), so air flows in through the inlet port (4).
  3. The incoming air is turned from an axial to a radial direction in the blade chambers (6) and, due to the high impeller speed, flows into the spiral housing (7).
  4. There the velocity drops and part of the energy is converted into pressure. The air leaves through the outlet port (8).

Advantages

Why Elmo Rietschle radial blowers.

  • High flow

    Single-stage F-RRE/F-RLE up to 57 m³/min (about 3,400 m³/h) – ideal at low differential pressure.

  • Quiet and vibration-free

Lightweight cast aluminium housings and impellers, smooth running.

  • Maintenance-free bearings

Bearings are greased for life and need no servicing.

  • Process safe

No reverse contamination – the air never comes into contact with oil.

  • Any mounting position

Left, right, horizontal or vertical; F-RRE turns right and F-RLE left for tight spaces.

  • New: F-RB

High speed blower using up to 60 % less energy than a side channel blower at the same duty point.

Choosing the technology

When to choose radial blowers?

The right choice when

  • You need very high flow at up to about 120 mbar differential pressure (F-RB up to 180 mbar)
  • It is drying, extraction or air supply
  • You want a compact, quiet and maintenance-free blower
  • The blower is built into a machine or cabinet with little space

FAQ

Questions and answers.

What is the difference between a radial and a side channel blower?

A radial blower delivers very high flow at low differential pressure. A side channel blower reaches higher differential pressure (up to about 1,000 mbar) at lower flow.

What is the F-RB?

The new Elmo Rietschle high speed radial blower with up to about 2,750 m³/h, vacuum down to 145 mbar and pressure up to 180 mbar. At the same duty point it uses up to 60 % less energy than a side channel blower.

When should I choose an F-CEV multi-stage blower?

When you need more differential pressure at medium flow: F-CEV-S up to 115 mbar vacuum, F-CEV-D up to 125 mbar pressure. The F-CEVF has a built-in filter and collection bin for paper, dust or film pieces.
