Screw compressors
The screw compressor is the workhorse of industry: it delivers air reliably and efficiently all day. With regulated speed (RS) it follows demand and saves energy.
Comparison
Power, pressure and flow ranges for the compressors we supply.
| Type | Power | Pressure | Flow | Air | Best suited for |

Why KOMP-R
At KOMP-R we work with air compressors and compressed air every day. We don't just sell a machine but a complete system: from choosing and sizing the compressor to air treatment, installation and regular service.
Energy is the largest share of a compressor's lifetime cost. That's why we first measure your actual consumption and then propose a compressor of the right size – often with regulated speed that follows demand.
Our range covers compressors from CompAir, Champion, Hydrovane, Ingersoll Rand, Reavell, JAB and Belliss & Morcom, so we can offer the right technology for every process – without compromise.
FAQ

It depends on air demand, pressure and the air quality you need. For most industry a screw compressor is the right choice; for food and pharma an oil-free one; for very high demand a centrifugal; for lower demand a vane compressor; for field work a mobile one; and for pressures above 40 bar a high-pressure piston compressor.
We size the compressor from the real needs of the system: the required air flow, working pressure, operating hours and demand profile. Peak demand and future expansion also need to be taken into account.
A screw compressor compresses air with two rotating rotors and is designed for continuous operation up to about 13 bar. A piston compressor compresses air with pistons in several stages and reaches much higher pressures, which is why it is used for high-pressure applications.
A regulated-speed (VSD/RS) compressor adjusts motor speed to the current air demand. It uses less energy and holds a more stable pressure than a fixed-speed compressor, which alternates between load and idle.
When compressed air comes into contact with a product or process where oil is not acceptable – for example in the food, pharmaceutical and electronics industries. Oil-free compressors certified Class 0 to ISO 8573-1 remove the risk of contamination.
Energy accounts for up to 80% of a compressor's lifetime cost. Consumption depends on power, pressure and system efficiency. Every extra bar of pressure raises consumption by 6–8%, so keep the pressure as low as possible.
By optimising the whole system: a regulated-speed compressor, fixing leaks, lowering pressure, recovering waste heat and monitoring consumption can cut energy use by up to 40%.
Yes. We carry out regular servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance of compressors with genuine parts, and we also help with air treatment and consumption measurements.
